CYC Instructors are trained and certified by the Sail Canada (formerly Canadian Yachting Association). Instructors teach using the Sail Canada curricula which is the standard across Canada. It includes a progression of skills and knowledge both ashore and afloat. The Sail Canada ratio of students to instructors is maintained.
WHAT STUDENTS NEED
Learning Boats - Centreboard — CL14 Class Sailboat or Topper Topaz
Maximum Class Size — 6 (2 per boat) $295.00 pp + HST
Minimum Class Size — 4
During the course, participants will be offered a complementary Associate Membership to the Cobourg Yacht Club. Upon completion of the course, participants are encouraged to build on their sailing skills as part of the centreboard or keelboat racing fleets.
Adult learn to sail centreboard classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings in July and August from 6 to 9pm. The first course starts Monday, July 10 and continues to Wednesday July 26. In August, classes are from Wednesday, August 9 (Monday, Aug 7 is a holiday) through Monday, August 28. There are only six spaces in each course so register early.
