One of the many benefits of being a member of a yacht club is the opportunity to visit and enjoy reciprocal privileges at other yacht clubs around the lake. All the reciprocal information you need to plan your cruise is provided on the Lake Ontario Clubs Cruising Association website. Please visit the Reciprocal List at http://locca.org/reciprocal-repository/ to learn more.
To all Commodores, Flag Officers and Members:
The Cobourg Yacht Club extends a warm invitation to your members to visit our club located in the Cobourg Heritage Harbour. The CYC appreciates the reciprocal services provided in the past you your club to our members.
Cobourg Yacht Club has adopted a policy of not sending out individual reciprocal letters or cards to other clubs. Our club will accord reciprocal privileges to any boat whose owner has a current membership in any club or marina that grants reciprocals to any other organization.
Cobourg Yacht Club is a tenant of the Town of Cobourg and do not own our docks. Every year we rent reciprocal space from the Marina on the west side of the centre pier (no hydro or water.) there is room for 8 boats and rafting is allowed.
Enjoy your first night free of charge and additional nights at $1.75/foot. Ask for reciprocal privileges when registering at the Cobourg Marina. If you choose to stay in a serviced slip you will be charged each night by the marina. Cobourg Marina offers ice, gas, diesel, washrooms and showers, boat ramp, mast crane, laundry facilities, pumpouts and free WiFi.
The marina monitors channel 68 or can be contacted at 905 372 2397. The marina added 32 serviced slips in 2014.
Once registered, come and join us in our clubhouse immediately west of the marina building where our Duty Officer will be pleased to answer your questions. Our clubhouse, with its impressive view of the lake, is open during the boating season. Menus and hours of operation are posted at the clubhouse. We are licensed and our clubhouse facilities include washrooms and gas barbeques.
In addition to the clubhouse conveniences, downtown shopping and restaurants are within walking distance and offer most of the amenities needed by transient boaters including Dean Marine chandlery on Third St. and the LCBO on Queen St. More information of Cobourg can be found at www.cobourgtourism.ca or www.cobourg.ca.
